Amazon Book AJAX test

This link towards a Drupal book on Amazon will display when you do a mouseover /for some users/ information about the book. AJAX and Amazon's API to the max. Useful you think?

Useful? Maybe.

1. I hate it when something happens while only hovering over a link. It disturbs my reading/browsing experience. (Ugly example.) I want something to happen only when I actively click on a link.

2. The Amazon link is intrusive. The pop-up is huge and gets in the way.

3. What if I only want to check out where the link leads to? Now you're forcing me (my browser) to visit an external link more or less without active involvement from my side. A URL will be logged in the big EU Police State Database. What if it's a goatse link? Child porn?

4. On the other hand: onmouseover pull-down menus are useful. That's because you are prepared to navigate when your mouse is on the menu.

5. Maybe some socially acceptable and recognizable standard can be found for these kind of links.

thanks

for your comment. valid points. just rechecked but in my browser / extensions, the site doenst do anything bad (in ie .. rrrr)
