I've been nagging Bee about pour poor spelling and punctuation on several occasions. Of course, the tongue-in-cheeck sometimes 'hits the wrong snare'. To the (easily) offended: Excuse me. (Just a little bit.)

Via Signal vs. Noise, today I encountered this wonderful article on the decline of correct English spelling, which quite gently-but-firmly makes my point.

"Yet it's an unignorable fact: when e-mailing and texting, people use a hybrid form of language that is half-talking, half-writing. Hence the decline of punctuation; hence all this annoying "gist" talk; and hence the universal cavalier disregard for spelling."

But that's not the point, yet. Read the whole article! (It's good. Even though it mentions Bill Cosby.)
