Drup.us

Frustrated by the "lack of progress" regarding the upcomming 4.7 release, "some people" started a YADF (YetAnotherDrupalFork) on the first of April, Drup.us, "Drup.us: the Flickr of Drupals"

It features way more Web 2.0 innovations than Drupal. We have been busy in stealth for years adding things like open APIs for integration and value added services, and things like tags.

Drup.us core will be released as a lightweight RoR development framework with all the cruft such as users, nodes, and categories removed and lots more MVC added in it's place. It will make your web application development so easy you will be able to watch our video screencasts.

Not even live with a retro flock.com design (hint) yet rumours are already there that Google already positioning to acquire. For the humour impaired, this news got out yesterday, they day before 2/April/06.
