By the end of this month, all proposals for organising the DrupalCon EU 2009 should be in with the Drupal Association. The board of the Association will then vote on what team will be awarded to organise the DrupalCon. Up to recently three teams were tendering to organise the conference; Paris, Koln and Maastricht in the Netherlands.

As on of the organisers of the Dutch team I am sad to see that the Germans will not be tendering after all, but very proud that they are joining forces and are switching over to the Maastricht Camp. Read more on the "Germany DrupalCon Team is supporting Maastricht in 2009".

Already lots of Belgium and Dutch people were doing the heavy lifting of writing and it is great to have "ze zjermans" on board as well, with three Nationalities tendering for organising the next EU Drupalcon in one place that is only dozen of kilometers away from Germany and Belgium, it might become a true European DrupalCon!

Best of luck to our French friends. Whoever gets the ball, I am proud that people in the community are willing to spend time on organising a DrupalCon on a volunteer basis. Paris or Maastricht, DrupalCon 2009 EU will rock!

The initial post of the Germans I was referring to, seemed like they are pro Maastricht. The German team might help the Maasricht team but they want to make clear they are pro a good DrupalCon, not aganst Paris! And so are we, lets make sure that in 2009 we have a rockin' Con in the EU, wherever it will take place
