rubik revisited

willy did have some postings about the rise of rubiks cube. see ; //here, //here and //here. note that willy already mentioned the rise of rubik in //2002/8/9.

more that a year later slashdot has a //posting on the revival of the cube. in the comments are some interesting links; .//the soltion, something called //speedcubing (think olympics for rubik!) and a realtime //movie a someone solving the cube in less than 20 secs!

rumour is that the genius is working on a 4 by 4 by 4 cube!

What will they think of next...

So the Black Vinyl disc got replaced by the Silver Acetate disk. The needle&groove system replaced by a holes/bumps & laser system.

Because you cannot play a Compact Disc with a needle, and you cannot play a record with a ....laser?.. Well, now you can: http://www.elpj.com

It took $20 mil. research, and uses five laserbeams, but now you have a programmable record player, with remote control. And: No Needle, No Wear ™.

Doesn't come cheap.
