While on holliday, I had some old spooks episodes with me we watched.. Not that I did too much time behind the laptop but still, no laptop for two weeks is a bit too much

Spooks is an excellent show (wiki lemma); Kudos and BBC at its best. I watched epsiode 5, year 4 called "the book" and there is this shot:

Ik heb een huis, sinds een paar weken minder boom en twee honden thuis. Huisje, iets minder boompje, beestjes dus voor mij.

Ook dit jaar was de curcus klei-en "het hoeft niet mooi te zijn als het maar veel is" weer succesvol door talloze cursisten afgerond.

Drupal Sucks...

Well, Drupal doesnt suck! But This Stuff Sucks sucks It uses Drupal's RSS aggeregator for getting sucky news.

Somehow Drupal's aggregator is not used that much on production sites. I dont know why; I like the functionality a lot and pulling RSS from different sites, from different pipes is a very good way to get rich relevant data into a site.

Every sites wants outbound RSS for every page (possible in Drupal) yet inbound RSS is not used that much? Is that true and if so, why? Are site administrators afraid of having "uncontrolled" content on their site?

Het is erg genoeg dat de achterkant van mijn sigarendoosjes tegenwoordig helemaal beklad zijn met de slogans dat ik er dood van ga, het ongezond is en mijn omgeving mijn rookgedrag niet waardeert. Niet omdat dit niet waar zou zijn, of omdat ik dit niet wil horen. Maar omdat ik nu geen snelle berekeningen meer kan doen voor offertes op de achterkant van mijn sigarendoosje die ik altijd bij de hand heb.

Maar erger dan een bedrukte achterkant van een sigarendoos, is een tweezijdig bedrukte bierviltje! Luister lieve marketeer van Amstel, Heineken en ander gerstenat, ik begrijp best wel dat u altijd op de bar wilt liggen met uw logo naar boven. Maar eke uitbater doet dit al voor u. En elke bierdrinker zal het ook doen. U hoeft u bierviltjes dus helemaal niet tweezijdig te bedrukken. Het levert alleen maar extra kosten op. Niet aleen de directe voor de print, maar de indirecte kosten zijn nog veel hoger.

U maakt startende kunstenaars het leven onmogelijk, u beperkt de innovatie van entrepeneurs en -wie zal het zeggen- door het bierviltj tweezijdig te bedrukken, maakt u dat enge ziektes niet genezen worden. Want een ieder weet, licht aangeschoten is de achterkant van een bierviltje de beste manier om de volgende dag zeker te weten dat het een dom idee was... of juist geweldig. Johan zei het best:

On freelanceswitch.com you can find a good read on hw to charge your client for the services you deliver (got it via a friend who is a free entrepeneur and a PhD as of yesterday). While all that is said in the posting is true, the best remark came from Michael Martine:

Slap the client in the face as hard as you can, then tell him your rate. If he’s shocked that you slapped him, you’re not charging enough.
