While on holliday, I had some old spooks episodes with me we watched.. Not that I did too much time behind the laptop but still, no laptop for two weeks is a bit too much

Spooks is an excellent show (wiki lemma); Kudos and BBC at its best. I watched epsiode 5, year 4 called "the book" and there is this shot:

Leuke reclame hoor, van de telefoongids. Over hoe Bekende Nederlandse kijken naar Telefoongids Bekende Nederlanders. Zo'n Jan van Otterlo campagne is natuurlijk redelijk goed bedacht. Maar de duivel is in de details. Kijk maar eens naar de video: op 14 seconde zie je "BB-FP-32" als kenteken van de verhuis auto. En als je die inklopt op vwe dan zie je dat het een ... personenauto is uit '94.

"De echte Jan van Otterlo" heeft er wel last van volgens hyped.nl

Ook leuk? Ik zie als je googled voor Jan Van Otterlo een reclame van aleverhuizers.nl. Goed gedaan jongens!

Waarschijnlijk is het kenteken de Saab van de bedenker van de spot. Wie weet meer van dit kenteken? Of hebben ze zo maar een nummer genomen, gelijk aan de naam Jan van Otterlo? Wie brengt hulp in deze?

Dojotoolkit using Drupal

It is kind of funny to see that The Dojo Toolkit is using Drupal as their CMS. Dojo being an AJAX library not unlike the jQuery library build in to Drupal core.

They do drink their own champagne however, see the view-source that points to dojo.js that is avaiable as well but not like Karl wants it. With the enormous amount of optional plugins and with the small footprint of jQuery, I still think it was one of the best choices Drupal made.

With all the Google Street View sightings floating around the net, it is time to stop the Google Van (see also googlevan.com/) that takes these snaps from entering our private rooms! Luckily there is an easy way, just print the text from this sign and put the robots.txt on a spot where it can be seen from the street.

Two weeks ago I visited my mother. She still lives in the Northern part the Netherlands where I was born and grew up as well. "Groningen" (apart from Groningen -the city where i studied- that is known for it's nightlife) is a rather empty place, lots of peace and space. Long views, broad horizons but not particularly known for having a "high" culture.

I toured around with my Mother who is in her 80-ies now and ended up at a very small place called "Onderdendam". It is blessed with a lovely small canal, an old -albeit broken- windmill, hand operated bridges and a real grandeur in the middle of nowhere. Along the canal where some very nice houses as well if you are into 18th century architecture. All in all a very nice place!

So when I was Google-ing for images of "Onderdendam", I found this weird site: pro-vitaal.nl.

Take a look at the site. If (?) Drupal was an obscure cult, the looks of this site will be our Druplicon logo.
