You got to love this work, it looks like lego porn / pixelated art. Most liley real phots were used and a 3D girl was CGI rendered on top of that. Other real good creative snaps are available on jeanyves le moigne's site as well (SFW).

Spreadthunderbird.com is a new sister site of
spreadfirefox.com to promote the mail client Thunderbird. Both are Drupal sites, spreadfirefox for ages, spreadthunderbird as of today. A nice clean design and a nice opensource product as well!

Vandaag viel een bijlage van de comptable in de bus. een soort top 100 lijst van beste werkgevers / bedrijven met veel advertorials waarin interviews werden gehouden met key spelers uit zo'n bedrijf. Leuk om te zien / lezen maar wel opvallend dat van de 30 interviews, de helft van de mannen (m/v) standaard geportraiteerd staan met hun handen gekruist over elkaar heen. Ongetwijfeld een gemakkelijke pose, een goede business uitstraling. Maar verre van onderscheidend. Dus heren (m/v) iets opvallender en minder standaard mag wel als je gezien wilt worden.Zie de volledige set op mijn flickr account.

Snaptell iPhone Application

Over at the appstore from Apple, you can find "snaptell" (website), a great app for your iPhone! Basically you take a picture from a cover of a book, game, DVD or CD and it tries to identify what book (dvd, games, cd) it is. If it found an entry, it shows also some meta data like reviews/stars on amazon.

Not all books are recognized, but the less obscure ones will have a positive entry!

While on holliday, I had some old spooks episodes with me we watched.. Not that I did too much time behind the laptop but still, no laptop for two weeks is a bit too much

Spooks is an excellent show (wiki lemma); Kudos and BBC at its best. I watched epsiode 5, year 4 called "the book" and there is this shot:

No more blurry screenshots on a Mac

If you have taken screenshots on your Mac with CMD SHIFT 4 (or 5), you will have seen that most of the screenshots do not have much detail and are in fact a bit blurry. This is caused by Mac OSX, making by defaults the screenshots in JPEG format. JPEG -unlike for example PNG- is a loosy compressed image format that is great for photo's but not too good for screenshots.

To change this, open a terminal and type:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type png
killall SystemUIServer

From now and, screenshots will be in the PNG format, better for making screenshots.

A small test on metadata. Spot the difference.

One difference, the first I added the tag downblouse, the second is free of tags.

What a difference metadata makes and what a shame that Flickr has become a site to look for porn. Sad, I always thought of Flickr as the last bastion of true artistic value but it seems that it has is being used like the rest of the internet is.

After some feedback I got from different people regarding the wallet in your mouth picture (and posting), I decided that it is your turn.

Here is what you have to do:

Make a picture of yourself with your wallet semi open in your mouth
post it on your blog, twitter, facebook, flickr etc
tag it with "talk-with-your-wallet"
add text to it with a request to potential sponsers for the Drupalcon and add links with to szeged2008.drupalcon.org/ and the how to sponsor page.
make sure enough eyeballs see it and more important...
make sure the right eyeballs see it; try to get attention from potential sponsors, explain why sponsoring the DrupalCon is the best thing they can do

Now I don not think that money will float in if you help spreading the word but 1) its funny to see people swallowing their wallet 2) It doesnt hurt 3) you can be part of this uber-cool-mini-micro-nano-viral-photo-shootout.

Drupal Barcode module

One of the most interesting modules I have seen in a while to come out for Drupal is the mobile codes one. The ability to combine mobile power, location based services and Drupal will open up a complete new field.

Implementations can be to add the barcode in a print.css so people can just point and click to visit the article if they have a printed copy instead of typing in URL's.

But you can also combine the real world with the online (like that is not real) world, with many mobile phones being able to process the image (like my iPhone) you can make "Location Based Services" like shotcode does.

It is available for Drupal 6 only, and to be honest that is a good thing. We always have a "break with yesterday, build tomorrow" attitude and while there are a lot of people still deploying 5 in production right now, in one or two month 5 will be yesterday. And 7 tomorrow...

Boy, the future waits for no-one, this sure goes fast.
