Internal Dummy Connection

Ever since I upgraded my server, I see a lot of

"GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 783 "-" "Apache/2.2.0 (Fedora) (internal dummy connection)"
messages in my Apache access logging. I wanted to know why apache is testing its own connection, but it seems it is new in 2.2 so Apache can die processes if needed to be within the MaxSpareService range and have enough servers ready without wasting resources.

While investigating this, I found this site which makes it very clear in text and graph how forking with Apache works.

Everything you wanted to know about Apache but were afraid to ask (and more).

The same thing on my server too. Did you find any solution how to fix it? Thanks.
