KPN bashing iPhone (je wordt niet groot door anderen te kleineren)

Ik begrijp KPN niet. Ze maken de mooiste reclame campagnes van Nederland, melken het precies ver genoeg uit. Neem bijvoorbeeld de goedemoggel campagne; een hit over heel Nederland!

En toen deze net niet meer kon, werd hij van de buis gehaald. Maar na een paar maanden -precies op tijd- gewoon versie twee:

Ook andere uitingen van KPN zijn altijd goed. Zo rijden er duizenden autos rond van KPN met campagne teksten, hebben ze mooie namen voor diensten ("flexibel") en weet men gewoon al jaren hoe men B2B en B2C marketing moet bedrijven: echte marketeers met verstand!

Wat ik dan niet begrijp is dat er schijnbaar sub afdelingkjes zijn die zelf autonoom wat mogen aankloten in de marge. En dan krijg je dus dit soort advertenties online:

(reclame op Amazon)

en op duizenden andere plekken vond je en week of twee geleden anti reclames tegen KPN, want zo zal de gemiddelde cosument het zien. Negatieve reclames worden geassocieerd met de aanbieder, niet met de concurrent.

De iPhone is een fantastisch apparaat, dat kan je niet afzeiken. Als je dat wel doet, dan plas je tegen de wind in terwijl je probeert te mikken op de digital bohemian. Twee keer dom, toppers moet je niet afzeiken, ze bepalen de maat en opmaat. En tegen de wind in plassen, dat maakt dat je raar gaat ruiken (heb ik me laten vertellen :-) )

Dus KPN, niet huilebalken dat je de geweldige iPhone deal niet hebt gekregen, maar gewoon goede dingen doen.

iPhone Tip: Migrate your contacts via the SIM card

If you want to migrate your contacts from your old phone towards your iPhone and iSync can not make connection with your old phone, you can still migrate your contacts via the analog loophole; via your SIM card!

First copy all your contacts from your old phone towards the SIM card. Some cards only hold up to 99 contacts but my SIM card was fine with copying all my contacts to it. Then put your SIM in your jailbroken iPhone. Now add the repository install.ifon.no to the installer application, refresh and select SIMPORT to install.

Now start SIMPORT, select all contacts and you are done!

You can not buy an iPhone in the Netherlands yet via the normal channels so you have to go abroad, jailbreak it and unlock it. So I dont have one (yet) but I have some friends who have one. The other day I was eating / drinking with one friend who had an iPhone with him and it sure was fun to see the reactions of people around you . The other reason I do not own an iPhone is that I already have two iPod's and a HSDPA / 3G+ enabled PDA and 3G mobile phone. And with the 90% cover of UMTS reach in the Netherlands, there is no Edge, so I'll rather wait for a 3G enabled iPhone.

But when I get an iPhone, I will surely iGarland it. And if you are in to Drupal, download it. Blue is the new black after all!

The iPhone is only sold for a couple of hours and already there is a book called "The Missing Manual". Strange, but it should be good since it is from O'Reilly Media

Op een verzonden e-mail zou 0,00001 cent belasting worden geheven. Voor het versturen van een sms'je ligt het bedrag beduidend hoger, dat zou 1,5 cent moeten worden. Volgens Lamassoure is dat een laag tarief, maar kan het voor de Europese Unie veel opleveren, omdat dagelijks miljarden berichten verzonden worden. Daarnaast meent hij dat een dergelijke belasting gemakkelijk te innen is.

Aaaah! Waarom zijn peopleincharge altijd zo clueless? Ik bedoel: 1 / 100.000 cent per mail. Heeft die persoon wel in de gaten hoe duur billing is? Enkel de kosten van het meten hiervan -los van waar en hoe je dat meet en wie je daartoe verplicht stelt- bedragen enkele centen per mail. "Gemakkelijk te innen". Sure. Maar wel met een overhead die factor 100.000.000 is. Ga je elke ISP verplicht alles laten meten? Ook bedrijven? En ik neem aan alleen versturende parytijen. Nu kan 80% van alle exchange "beheerders" de doos noulijks beheren om spam tegen te gaan, laat staan als ze dat wat ze niet kunnen voorkomen ook nog moeten tellen en billen. En als ik mijn eigen mailserver draai? En als mail uit buiten-eu komt? En waarom bTw, wat is de toegevoegde waarde waarover er mail geheven wordt.

If you are carrying one of those sexy phones like the RAZR V3/V3i and want to do a lot more than just making calls, here are a few tips that can help in converting it into a smartphone. (Well, almost!). A mobile phone with Java MIDP 2.0 support and a data plan with your cellphone operator are required to run these applications.

Well, define smart and stupid. I used a smartphone tha last year (Windows Mobile OS) and found it to suck a Camel ass. I now have a Nokia again (6220i) and it fat better than that so called smart MSFT shit, it doenst crash, it doesnt loose its data when the battery dries down (newer models of Windows dont do that either to be fair), there are far more (J2ME) apps avail and it has a better form factor.

So according to this article all I need are these 3 apps and my phone is "smart":

# Get Opera Mini. This is a java version of the legendary Opera mobile browser. The Opera proxy strips of much of the graphics, flash animations etc., and perfectly fits the web content on your screen (most of the times). The browsing experience is almost comparable to that on the smaller Symbian phones.
# Get EQO. EQO brings Skype to most mobile phones, which was hitherto only available for the elite Windows Mobile phones/PDAs. Click here to see if your phone is supported. The main disadvantage of EQO is that you need to keep a PC always ON and connected to the internet. EQO is currently a beta version and hence free.
# Buy RoadSync. While many mobile phones today support POP3 and IMAP servers, only the Blackberries, Treos and Windows mobile phones support Microsoft Exchange Activesync. RoadSync for MIDP 2.0 handsets can synchronize mails with your corporate exchange server. While direct push is not available with the Java version of RoadSync, having corporate email access without Blackberry is a definite plus. A trial version of RoadSync is available via Dataviz's Office Mobility Kit.

IPods outsell phones

AppleInsider, consumers seek more iPods than cell phones this holiday.

Think about it, more IPod's sold than phones. While phones were already outselling PDA's and palms with a factor of 100. Now all Apple has to do is find a place for a SIM card in their IPod's.
