GPRS

FemFem

Google Proxy for Mobile Phone

Enter a URL and use the google proxy to clean up all those messy pages fullblown with non standard "ie only" stuff. See for example CNN.com via the google mobile proxy versus the normal version.

Telephony and phony standards

Mobile telephony standards at wikipedia is a nice listing of all Telephony standards including "made up" one's like "2.5" (and even 2.75, whats next?). A bit more history regarding telephony can be found at ideafinder. I knew Bell was just before another to file a patent:

876 Bell files patent application on February 14,. patent issues March 7
1876 Elisha Gray filed his patent caveat (notice of intention to take out a patent) on February 14

International GPRS Settings

I have a new PDA/mobile phone,so this page was handy for me and might help out the EUbound air warrior who wants to roam: Access Systems Europe: GPRS Settings

A GPRS connection needs to have a correct Access Point configured, and the configuration is mobile operator dependent. Please note that most operators provide GPRS settings suitable for WAP browsing by default, and that the GPRS Internet connection usually requires different settings and possibly an operator activation to work.

I am at Gartner's Mobile Summit 2005 in London

I'll be in London today and tomorrow for a wireless / mobile summit from Gartner. Maybe I'll be able to post some snapshots or blog enties live from the summit. Otherwise some other content is sheduled as well and I'll blog about this summit later when back in The Netherlands.
