drupal upgrade, if you are reading this...

Yesterday I started upgarding willy to drupal 4.5. Went fine, however today I run in lots of troubles. For no reason sometime it seems that the MIME type is not sent by the server and the browser is asking to download the file and sometimes the file is garbage. This is not related to local cache, the browser, if one is logged in or not, time etc, so this means it is hard(er) to solve. You are to be reading this, in case it is via a feed instead of direct from my site please visit:

  4. http://willy.boerland.com/myblog/index.php

and let me know what the results were... I havent got time to solve this this weekend, neither during weekdays so this would really be a huge downtime for willy and I need all the help I can get...Sad

apart from the problem mentioned above I have some small problems with some modules that would take just some hours.

mmmh,

mhhh, this one (http://anon.free.anonymizer.com/http://willy.boerland.com/myblog/) works. maybe it is related to my own laptop? cant imagine it, since I tested it with two different browsers but I cant replicate the problem from the localohost ccl or from a cms.exe on my windows laptop. please drop a line and test the site a couple of time.

it seems that this might be r

it seems that this might be related to both drupal and apache gzipping the page...?

confirmed

the apache file got compressed again and was send as a binary. saving this file, renaming it to index.php.gz, opening it, gives a valid php file. so it seems this problem might be realted to drupal sending out a compressed file to apache that is compressing it again.

Dunno, but...

  1. http://willy.boerland.com - (with the redirect) worked for me
  2. http://willy.boerland.com/myblog - mangled page
  3. http://willy.boerland.com/myblog/ - mangled page
  4. http://willy.boerland.com/myblog/index.php - worked too

try again

could you, or anyone else try again. I uncommented the gzipping lines n bootstrap.inc and it should be solved now...
