DrupalCON live update, day 3

Dries opened with a very interesting talk about the infrastructure, 250K unique visitors per month on two servers currently (soon to be dual frontend headed, one SUN database). The results of the survey and the potential introduction of a call-home function gave a rather good discussion.

Neil followed with what has to be done to finish Content Construction Kit (AKA CCK).

Ber followed with relation systems.

FreeBiz 1.0 was pesented by Dan. On how opensource software en business models can mix in.

Adrian had the most coolest presentation about a new potentail upcomming module to make dynamic themes. Real cool stuff, take a look at colrpick to have an idea where this is going.

After lunch, Rasmus (the father of PHP) had a very nice talk about the history of PHP. Nice slogan he has: fail fast, fail cheap, be lazy... and the greatest inefficiencies come from solving problems you will never have". Rasmus did a real time scan for XSS problems, wont spoil it yet. His tool (an AJAX based XSS scanner) was brilliant! H also worked on stuff like Web 2.0/RSS like buzz.progphp.com.

Johan Janssen presented a very good "Joomla, Drupal and You", on how we can learn from them (en v.v, we have a lot that they want in the next versions like nodes, taxonomy, caching and stuff), stuff regarding foundations

Moshe Weitzman was talking about Unit Testing. A cool way to do both syntax and webbased testing of code.

Last was up the integration of Drupal and asterisk, an OpenSource VOIP solutions. This is the way to go for sure, jaber, drupal and asterisk (which is a drupal site since a few weeks)
