Call of Duty 4 for mac!

As a new Mac zealot and long time fan of the Call of Duty series, it is for me great news that Aspyr will be bringing COD4 to the mac! See (after age verification?) the news:

Aspyr Media, Inc. announced today they will publish Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for Mac, a gripping modern-day action-thriller that deploys players into heart-stopping battles across the world’s most treacherous hotspots. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare delivers unprecedented high-definition graphics, piercing 5.1 surround sound and a dynamic community-oriented multiplayer experience. Developed by Infinity Ward and licensed by Activision, the game is expected to be available for Mac in May 2008.

I just have to wait a couple of more months and watch lots of video:

Google Earth Flightsim

Some time ago I predicted that Google Earth will become the ultimate game engine. To quote, I said:

there is bound to come a (fly) game in Google Earth.Think of that, Google Earth as your browser (think place instead of a textbox as an entry point for your searches), Google Earth as the base for a CMS, Google Earth as a gaming platform.

And... indeed. There is now a flight game in Google Earth. See marco-za.blogspot.com.

It would be great. Google Earth as the Graphical User Interface of your Operating System, a multiplayer game engine, the base for searching data (the browser) and for ... life the universe and everything.

MySQL Monitor - Ajaxified

At the great blog TheHouse.Net an article about MyTop AJAXified

I use a MySQL in most, if not all, my website development projects. In some cases, especially with applications/sites that tend to get a large number of hits (and as such, a greater number of interactions with the database), it’s nice to be able to see what the DB engine is doing, how many threads are running, etc. My tool of choice has been MyTop by Jeremy Zawodny for a couple years now. Recently, it looks like someone wanting to learn some Ajax has decided to port Jeremy’s great tool over to an ajaxified webpage! No need to login to the database server and run mytop in a console anymore; now I can do it straight from a web browser!

I just reinstalled Mytop on my system (never did it after the migration 1 year or so ago) and I dont think my hardware will like MyTop in an AJX form. But still, great show off that this web two dot oooh thingy is just all about bringing rich application to your browser 9and aggegate content),

Duke Nukem Forever back on wired vaporware list

Vaporware 2005, Duke Nukem Forever is back! And is number 1!

The game came second in the 2000 Vaporware Awards, and won in 2001 and 2002. In 2003 we gave it a Lifetime Achievement Award, just to get it off the list.
But ... but.. it wont make the vaporware list in 2006?
