A rather good and unbiased microsoft-watch site.

sco declined to comment...

SCO was told by benz to .. wel basically //get lost.

DaimlerChrysler has responded robustly to SCO's Linux lawsuit. SCO
claimed Daimler had refused to provide it with a "certificate of
compliance" over its long-term Unix contract. Daimler response? Tough.

The car manufacturer asked a Michigan court to dismiss the
lawsuit because there was "no genuine issue of material fact" in it.
Daimler says it has no obligation to provide SCO with any such
certification, but that it had nevertheless sent it a letter about the
situation.

Good news, und viele Dankenach unser Ost-naber (or something like that)! The //pinkfairies.org is rather funny too. One can earn up to $433.18 as a bounty value (as of today), when one shows the SCO code in the kernel. Donations welcome! //[shit or get of the pot]

Baresystems, anyone wants to share information?

I am thinking about buying some new hardware, the first in about 5 years I quess. Between 5 years ago and now, I have collected .. well up to 10 pieces of hardware, pentium's, 486 and the odd Sun. Most of them are now gaining dust, except the new system named [tug] from [basl].

The new systems needs to have TFT, DVD and TV and shall 90% be used for [debian] [linux] and 10% for some [gaming] on [microsoft]. The 90% will be filled with using it as a [mythtv] system. The system will either be located in the living or in the attic, so not much fan sounds will be nice. Oooh, and no (or minimum) wires attached, so wifi for sure.

So what should I buy?

I want(ed) to go for a barebone system like //these (note DE allert!). But I have no experience with them. Anyone wants to share experiences of what (not) to do?

Samba howto book

Samba is faster than fileservice via native windows. And //this great PDF tells you howto configure Samba in an excellent way.

MS-Social software, wallop

I really do believe that social software combined with "traditional" methods like mail and instant messaging (hell, even face to face) will change corporate communications. After //Orkut, //LinkedIn, //Friendster, //Zaibatsu, //Tribe.net and //PeopleAggregator, Microsoft is kicking in.

And like they always do, with full force. Their rather cool //resource department are working hard on //wallop. From the looks on //this page, I really think they are going to make it.
